Our environmentally friendly Equipment

Wetlands and Woodlands Management has invested in and continually maintains all types of unique equipment for its projects. The following is a partial list of our resources available.

  • Geo-Boy Grinders:
    These heavy-duty brush grinders have 30" wide all rubber tracks, 3.5 psi and 250 HP Liquid Cooled Cummins Diesel. The tracks are very environmentally friendly, as they have no metal grouser bars to denude vegetation, provide minimal ground and soil disturbance, compaction of delicate soil and vegetation is minimized and rutting is nearly eliminated. They are equipped with FECON BH-250 grinder heads.

  • Caterpillar Excavators:
    Custom built Cat 320 excavators with 48 inch wide tracks on long under carriages (3.2 psi). These are swamp and forestry excavators modified to work in the "wet world". We have equipped our Swamp Cats with two different clearing heads. For clearing large timber, we utilize a Weldco-Beasles 60 inch saw head capable of removing trees through 48 inch dbh, and for mid-story and under-story grinding we use a FECON BH-80 grinder head.

    When installed on the Swamp Cats, the long reach boom gives us the ability to lift the grinder head up to 41 feet in the air of over the side. This allows us to remove vegetation over and around ditches and ponds, shave trees at property lines or firebreaks and selectively remove certain tree species. Additionally, we have equipped our Swamp Cats with Wrist-o-Twist boom swivels. We also have a complete inventory of digging and ditch cleanout buckets including V-ditch buckets. 

  • Morooka Tracked Support and Service Vehicles:
    When ten miles from the nearest road, we depend on Morookas to support our fleet of cutters and grinders. With excellent capacity our Morookas carry 400 gallons of diesel fuel, welders, generators, air compressors, 55 gallons of hydraulic oil, tools, cutting torches, and cables.

  • Support Vehicles:
    Wetlands and Woodlands Management has a full complement of service vehicles. These include an four wheel drive International, a former military 6x6 military fuel truck and a fleet of our own tractor trailers and lowboys.
